OnCall Doctors podiatry (also known as chiropody) service is your one stop for a professional service for the diagnosis and specialist treatment of foot and lower leg disorders in Lytham, St Annes, and the Fylde Coast.

Chiropodists and podiatrists specialise in treating conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, and verrucae. We advise regular 6-8 weekly appointments to maintain excellent foot health.  We can also provide treatment plans after the first consultation.   

Our podiatrist has over 25 years of professional experience and has worked in the Lytham, St Annes, Fylde Coast & Preston areas.  She is registered with the health and care professions council (HCPC).

Being based in a private GP centre allows our podiatrist access to immediate medical advice and treatment and order diagnostic tests e.g., nail cultures, skin cultures and blood tests.

We can also provide GP review on your current medications.

Feet Facts

The foot and ankle are a complex mechanical structure made up of 26 bones, 33 joints and over 100 muscles, tendons & ligaments.  It also has around 500 blood vessels.
The average person takes 8000-10 000 steps each day
There are over 7,000 nerve endings in each foot.
Your feet have around 250,000 sweat glands which produce up to half a pint of perspiration each day
The foot absorbs 3-5 times body weight each time it hits the ground.

What will happen at my appointment?

Our experienced chiropodist/podiatrist will take a full medical history, perform a careful examination of your feet, and assess or offer advice on any treatment that may be required.  

Follow-up appointments will be arranged as required. Foot specialists liaise with other medical specialists including physiotherapists, chiropractors & orthopaedic surgeons. If the chiropodist/podiatrist identifies any problems that may require a second opinion, you will be seen by our in-house GP at OnCall Doctors.
